Q: I can not manage my devices in Itunes

I need some help. I am running Mac Sierra on my 15" MacBook Pro Retina Display. I recently upgrade to the new iPhone 7 Pus and want to remove my old iPhone 6s from my iTunes account using Manage Devices option but I can not do it. There are just gray bottom that do not do anything at all. Is this something normal? So in other words I do have three devices instead of two. Can someone explain to me wha is going on here? Thank you.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

What you have on your computer is your iTunes library, which is different from your iTunes "account" (Apple ID).  For an iOS device, it's associated with your Apple ID.  That's where you need to formally remove the device, when you stop using it.  In iTunes, go to your your Account Information screen

menu bar -> Account -> View My Account

Where it says iTunes in the Cloud, click Manage DevicesRemove the one that is your old iPhone.

NOTE:  What you may have been looking at is in iTunes menu bar, File -> Devices.  Those commands are greyed out, unless you have a specific device selected in iTunes.  And those command apply to the device and iTunes library, not your Apple ID.
