Q: imovie save help !

How do I save a movie that i have created in imovie that is listed under project media. However I do not see this assemblage in movies at my home location. For some reason I thought everything was saved there every time i made changes. I may have to fix things after the fact so I need to know what I am doing so I do not lose anything !

Thanks

iMovie automatically saves your project in your iMovie library which by default is in your Movies folder. When you relaunch iMovie your project will be there just as you left it.

Theoretically, the iMovie saves any project being worked on automatically in the hard drive. From there, it is easy accessing the files whenever you need them since there is a "movies" folder where the finished videos are deposited. Inside the folder, you will get two locations that have all the necessary data concerning your iMovie project. "iMovie projects" is a folder with information about the timeline and all video effects available while "iMovie events" folder has raw videos and any other media material that is required for the project to succeed.

You have to continue saving your project after every edit even though the iMovie mostly does that automatically. You cannot have an excuse that the iMovie is doing it then later to find that nothing had been saved.

And you can try a best video editing software similar to iMovie, and it is more easier to save the movies and help you a lot more. Here is the link:http://www.iorgsoft.com/Video-Editor-for-Mac/

    Hope i can help you.

This particular project I am referring to has been going since Late May.  I work on it, quit Imovies and reopen and there it is. However when I go to my movies folder I do not see the file which I have named this project that I am working on. It must be somewhere but I do not see it. Is it a hidden file ? Thanks

When you control-click on iMovie Library in your Movies folder, and then click on Show Package Contents, you will see a list of your projects although you cannot play them there.  To play a project you need to click on it in the Projects display screen within iMovie.

Okay ! Thanks much. Now I see the project I am working on. I am not sure where the projects display screen is located.. Can you point me to it ? Here is a scrteen shot of my active effort. While I am at, the project has not been saved or whatever the next step would be to finalize it. How do I do that ? Thanks greatly !
