Q: what is error code -50

What is error code -50 ? I'm trying to add a folder to my external hard drive and get error code -50. "The operation can't be completed. An unexpected error occurred (error code -50)"

    Do you only get this error with this hard drive, or do you receive it with other locations on your computer as well? Have you been able to use this external hard drive before?
