Where can I find non-breaking spaces and hyphens?

I'd love to see a symbol category containing special characters such as non-breaking spaces and non-breaking hyphens. It's not clear to me how Pages expects me to access these characters.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), macOS Sierra (10.12)

non-breaking space = option+space… also aly+space on some Kbs.

Although Pages does not have a nonbreaking hyphen per se, there is a way to turn hyphenation on or off for a word:

1. Click the word while holding down the Control key.

2. Then choose Never Hyphenate or Allow Hyphenation from the shortcut menu.

I'd be happy to see this accessible from the special character menu, but this does the trick.

You can make any character you want accessible from the Favorites part of the Character Viewer. Non breaking space is U+00A0

Non breaking hyphen is U+2011

Whether that works in Pages I don't know.
