    If it's an iTunes gift card (Apple Store gift cards can't be used with iTunes), and you've redeemed it onto your account and it covers the first renewal price (plus any applicable taxes), it should be automatic : Join Apple Music on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, or PC - Apple Support

    About valid payment methods

    When you first sign up for an Apple Music membership, you can choose only one of these payment methods:
