Q: How to get an updated status on a case?

I am getting a nightmarish experience with Apple support. I am trying to get a web access to get a status on a case I opened on behalf of a relative and it seems no such interface exists. Seriously?

    this is a volunteer forum, we dont' have that information avaiable to us.

    If apple opened a case and an email was given to them the case information would have been sent to that account.
