Well I posted about my experience with Logic 9 and the new OS and they promptly deleted it.
There are no plans to do anything to help up. I hope they will but I guess not.
35 mins on the phone. The rep told me Logic is an AVID product? Is that true??

Yes this is what I knew. Thus my reason for making a previous post about a technical issue that has caused me big problems. Does anyone know if or when there will be a fix or am I just out of luck? I record a lot of independent bands and Ive learned 9 very well. I don't want to change. My work and the bands have now stopped. This affects their living and mine. I really would just like some help. Im sure the board and the members will understand my frustration and also my shock at being told by an Apple "Tech Expert" on the Apple help line that one of their best software packages is made by someone else? I mean is it too much to ask to just have these folks aware of what products the company sells??
According to what I just learned on the phone with Mac after 35 mins there will not be a fix of any sort. Of course the rep thought that Logic 9 was an Avid software package so maybe thats the problem. I did speak to a "supervisor" and got the big blow off. I hope someone can tell me soon if there will be a fix. I really like Mac and Logic and dont want to retool for Pro Tools but they may be forcing me to do that.
Also my user name is one I just made today. Before this I was a MAC LOVER and one of their biggest advocates. All I want is tech help to continue to use the products and hardware I paid premium prices for.
In gereral it sceemes it does.
But what i Just exprienced was this:
I downgraded my old late 2009 Mac back to Sierra.
Means:
I created a bootable Sierra - image before and burned it to a usb harddisk
I zeroed the harddisk of the mac
and then booted from the usb device
and recovered the mac from TimeMachine
When Logic was up I connected my Behringer firewire mixer
Result: COLD BOOT of the Mac
not really encouraging....
Well I did not loose any data but anyway...
Yeah thats the problem. Im not going to risk losing my valuable files. Im extremely upset by this. But again when the tech support line doesn't even know Mac owns Logic and its their product its not looking good. Guess I will just call sweetwater now and go Pro Tools with PC. Im telling everyone in music biz I know not to use Logic anymore. Avid and Pro Tools are a pain but they never left people hanging out like this before!
Yes... but read this first.
Logic Pro 9 keeps crashing when I try to save in macOS Sierra.
you have to disable iCloud Drive.
When will this be fixed? I use Logic 9 a lot, and was even planning to get a new mac, but I need to make sure I can still use Logic 9 properly.
Hi,
i set up several times a blank sierra installation with Logic 9 ( only the main software )
It works until You trie to record...
As soon as You push the record button it crashes immediately!
I came to it, cos' I thought there is a driver problem with firewire or mey firewire audio device is out of order
But Garage Band works properly!
And with Yosemite there is no problem at all.
A Bug report has been sent already to Apple
But I guess there is nothing going to be done about it, cos Logic X is out.
So I stay with Yosemite!
In the post that Pancenter points to a user says to disable iCloud Drive in Sierra and Logic 9 will work.
Not tried it personally as I'm not running Sierra. But as for the question 'When will this be fixed?' then the answer is, it won't. Well, not purposely anyway. Logic 9 hasn't been supported for years. If an incremental OS update fixes this it will only be because it was causing trouble elsewhere.
Did you try disabling iCloud Drive in Sierra?
Users are reporting it works when this is done.
I guess I'll keep my current mac. I've not tried to disable the
... I've nor tried disabling iclaud. I just reversed the installation to my previous OSX.
In my opinion, there should be some kind of discount for uphrading from logic9 to X. But that's another story.
.
I did so and it worked !
as well with the internal core audio as well as with my firewire device
Thanks, very good idea!
But I agree: I think they don't care much about it cos' Logic X is out
