Does "erase all content and settings" automatically turn off "Find my iPhone"?

Hi.

Forgive my ignorance. I am not an iPhone user. My daughter said she went through the "erase all content and settings" procedure. But what I want to know is if this automatically turns off "Find my iPhone". Sensibly I think this would, but I am not sure. I need to make sure "Find my iPhone" is turned off before sending it back to Apple for a trade-in.

Thanks for asking about turning off Find my iPhone here in the Apple Support Communities. To answer your question, yes, that will disable Find my iPhone, but you may need to enter the password because Find my IPhone is turned on as described in this help article: What to do before selling or giving away your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch .
