move message to last mailbox

Up until the latest OS update (including apparently to Mail), when I'd right click on a message, I'd get a window of choices including to file to the last mailbox to which a message had been saved. Now that option doesn't appear (but Mail's added a "Move to Predicted Mailbox" but that's greyed out 99% of the time).

How can I turn on the "move to [mailbox] again" option and save time not having to look for the folder?

If this option has been removed from Mail - please take this as a request to add it back. With hundreds of mailboxes it becomes quite tedious ...

Thanks,

Benton

Hi JazimBlue,

I understand that you no longer see the option to move Mail messages to the most recently used Mailbox. I know it's important to be able to use your Mail efficiently, so I'm happy to help.

Do you see this regardless of what the most recent Mailbox was that was used?

To start, quit Mail by using the menu bar by clicking Mail > Quit Mail . Then hold shift while you open Mail again and test.

If you continue to have issues, test this issue in safe mode as well:

I have the exact same problem, and I really hope it'll get fixed, or that there is a workaround.

You can find the "Move to XXXX again" under the Message menu bar. Not as handy, but easier than scrolling through a hundred mailboxes. There's a shortcut key for it too, but I prefer to see where it's going before I select the menu item.

Is there a way to add a menu bar entry to the contextual menu?

Same problem for me. I cannot for the life of me figure out how Apple can take away things (operations, commands, features) that are core to the intuitive and labor saving experiences we enjoy from Apple software and hardware products. Anyway, this is what I posted at the feedback site/Mac OS/Mail area: Feedback

"Latest version of mail has taken away the much used and very handy "Move to XXXX mailbox" or similar (not sure of the exact verbiage) contextual command and now a new command shows up in its place called "move to predicted mailbox" but it is mostly grayed out. In perhaps 100 moves, it has worked once for me.

Please bring back the "Move to XXXX mailbox" command. Furthermore, what would be really nice is to have the last 10 mailboxes that items were moved-to show up in the menu, yielding a much quicker filing operation."

Thanks!

Same feelings on this update to Mac Mail, the Move to last folder was very useful when you're working and saved a lot of time, although I like the Move to Predicted folder which works great on iOS - however I've also found my Mac Mail in Sierra is permanently grey not finding any suggested folder - so it's currently absolutely useless, I've got the same mailboxes on my Mac Mail as my iPhone so no idea why the iOS works and Sierra doesn't.

JazimBlue,

I do have the same question.

Unfortunately I don't have an answer and/or have not seen a fix to this issue (is it a bug or a new feature?).

It was working as it was intended to prior to OS 10.12.1.

Would appreciate if anyone has a fix or an explanation.

I used the "move to Predicted Mailbox" quite often.
