CarPlay Maps crashing after 10.1 update

Hi There,

Just wondering if anyone is having the same issues.

I drive a 2016 Chevy Cruze Premier and after updating to iOS 10.1 "Maps" crashes in CarPlay after pushing the "Go" button for directions. It was working just fine before on my iPhone 6S running 10.0.2.

It doesn't matter how I open the app, from the dashboard or from my phone. I'm able to browse locations and search for places, but when I hit the green "Go" button for directions the app crashes and I'm sent back to the main dashboard view.

I tried the classic turn everything OFF and ON again but the issue persists.

iPhone 6s, iOS 10.1

Hi,

You might want to try to unpair your phone from your car and disable CarPlay, then re-pair and re-enable.

Also close the map app in the background.

Hi,

You might want to get rid of apps running in the background which can be working your phone over its optimal working conditions. You can do this by double tapping the home button and you will see the apps that are running in the background. Multiple applications running in the background can cause crashes and issues with your device heating up quickly. You may also want to retune your data usage on apps that are using unnecessary data to improve map connectivity with your local network provider.

And just for troubleshooting procedure sake try also unpair your phone from your car and disable CarPlay, then re-pair and re-enable as anonyme4321 has suggested.
