After restarting my Mac, I was greeted with a message stating that the update could not be verified. I then checked my third party extension (none), and downloaded the update directly from the Apple site. The update still cannot be verified. Any recommendations?
System details:
El Cap (10.11.6)
iMac 24, mid 2007
iMac, iOS 10
You can't install an update for OS X if you don't have that version running on your machine.
There is no update from El Capitan to Sierra.
No 2007 iMac can run above 10.7.5.
Sorry, I listed the update incorrectly.
The update that it can't verify is the security update 10.11.6
Delete the download and download it again from the App Store.
Try downloading the update, Download Security Update 2016-002 (10.11.6) I know you have already tried from there
but this time let it download on its own, so don't do anything with the mac whilst it downloads, and see if that helps.
I have noticed on occasion that if something is downloading and you are also doing other internet intensive stuff,
streaming or downloading others then that can cause a file to be corrupted and therefore not be verified.
