How do I close apps on my iPhone 7?

When I dbl click on home I see all of the apps I have been using. Does it matter if they are not closed? And if it does matter in terms of the battery charge or speed of phone, how do I close them?

It is fine to keep the apps open.

The question was how to close them, not if its ok to leave them open.

So how do you close the apps?

If you read my response above from six months ago, you will see that it not only specifies it is in fact OK to leave apps open, but it also explains how to close apps.
