Does the 4th gen have an Audio Return Channel?

I'm looking at purchasing the 4th gen apple tv to replace my current 3rd gen in my living room. I noticed that the 4th gen lacks an optical audio output unlike the 4th gen. When I first used my 3rd gen with my setup, I couldn't get audio from the apple tv through our surround sound system because it didn't have an ARC (Audio Return Channel) and I needed to use an optical audio cable to get audio through the surround sound system via the HDMI cable. I'm wondering if the 4th gen has it as it lacks the optical audio port.
