IMac 11.1, 11.2, 11.3, SATA II or SATA III?

Question,

Does the iMac 11.1, 11,2, and 11.3

have SATA II (3 gigabits/second)

or SATA III (6 gigabytes/second) interface?

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/IMac_(Intel-based)#Unibody_iMac

I know the 12.1, and 12.2 shipped with SATA II,

but a firmware update made this SATA III.

I just put a larger hard drive in my 12.1, and it lists it as SATA III, 6gb...

I know the 10.1 core duo's have SATA II,

and the 11.X and 12.X have the same drive controller...

Anyone with a 11.X, that has replaced their drive,

can you look under "System Report",

and tell me what speed your drive is running?

Anyone with an OEM 12.X, same question.

I would like to know what the original drive was, a SATA II or III....

I forgot to look before I removed it...

IMac Intel, Mac OS X (10.6), 64 bit is on and good to go

To double check your system, go to > Apple > About This Mac > select System Profiler/System Report > select SATA in the Hardware list.

FWIW' most all SATA lll drives are backwards compatible to SATA ll.
