Downloading iPhone photos to PC (My Computer>Apple iPhone>Internal Storage>DCIM) results in hundreds of folders each containing a few various single photos. How do I import the iPhone photos so I can see thumbnails of all the photos and select which to keep on the PC? What am I missing? (Windows in Portuguese should not be an issue.)

You use the Windows Photo import utility. From Computer, right-click on the iPhone icon, and select Import. That will take care of all of the import duties for you. Attempts to get photos from the iPhone via Explorer like you are looking can cause multiple issues and this view you see of multiple folders. After you are done, then go to Control Panel, AutoPlay, and select the iPhone and set AutoPlay to Always ask when plugged in and it will prompt you when you connect the device what it is that you want to do, and then just select Import with Windows Import.
