Apple TV Main Menu Not Showing

Just connected my Gen 2 Apple TV after moving.

I have a good internet connection. The iTunes Home Sharing is working. But the Main Menu (containing the apps and iTunes Movies and such) is not showing up.

This is what I'm getting when I press the menu button on my remote

Happened to me while watching Netflix, suddenly the video stopped, screen went black and then came back to the same screen that you are displaying! I followed all of the troubleshooting guides, the network tests out fine but still will not show anything but the "computers" and "settings" screen!

Assuming this is not the first time you have used your Apple TV

  1. You might try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
  2. Also try restarting the router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
  3. If the problem persists, try a restore, you may want to try the previous procedures several times before doing this.
  4. If restoring from the Apple TV doesn't help, try restoring from iTunes using a USB cable.

If this is a new Apple TV, in addition to trying the above, it may also be that your network router is not allowing access to the timeserver, check that your router allows access over port 123.

You might also try connecting to a different network and then trying again on your own, you might try at a friends or use the wifi hotspot on your mobile phone if you have one.

i have the same issue and restarted apple tv and router a couple times, also pulled the power and ethernet cords, internet is fine and the remote app on my phone connects over wifi and i can go into settings etc with my remote and it has the correct network identified but the Main Menu in settings is blank, it almost seems like an 'outage' but that doesn't make sense.
