Personal Hotspot missing (Weird one) - IOS 10.1 - Sprint

I have read many of the old "tricks" to getting your personal hotspot working from past IOS issues. However, this one is different. I have used personal hotspot many times through the summer. I have the latest update on my phone (10.1.1) and had this problem before the last update.

The personal hotspot option is no where to be found. Normally it shows up as an option underneath the first four options in General Settings (underneath the Airplane Mode, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Cellular options). It used to be there as the fifth option, now it is gone.

There is no option in the "Cellular" setting to turn it on. It is completely gone. I have tried resetting the Network Settings and nothing changed. One time I refreshed the 'Settings' tab (Pull down on the page) and it showed up for a split second, then disappeared.

I have other phones on this same exact plan and it shows on their phone and works on their phone. I don't think it would be a Sprint issue since other phones in the same plan have it.

Any ideas? I hate the idea of wiping my phone and starting over. Not sure if that would even do anything.

Apple? Is this a "feature"?

What happens if you go to Settings>General>About>Carrier? Do you see the same carrier on each of the devices. Also, just because other devices on the same plan are showing this does not really mean that much. Each individual phone is registered on the network individually. It is very possible they may need to reset your account for that particular phone. If the carrier files are the same, you can try restoring to a backup, or contact Sprint for assistance. It is the carrier setting that determines what you see in your settings area, especially when it comes to the cellular area.

Apple? Is this a "feature"?

Wasted (and snarky) question my friend. This is not a place to get that type of answer. Apple does not deliver support here.

Short of calling Apple Support, you likely won't get one.

Resetting your phone's network settings would my first suggestion. No data loss, only your wifi password is wiped.

Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings

Ok. I have been having this EXACT issue too. I am a sprint user. Have spent about 7 hours trying to fix it. But the folks who have responded here are right. It is a carrier issue. The lady at sprint had me dial ##update# (then hit the dial button). A "starting service update" button will appear. click ok. let it update. "service update complete" will show up. Then see if hotspot has shown up. It did on mine like magic. Such an easy fix for sprint. Sure wish I had called them earlier. Took about 25 seconds to fix.
