Folder disappeared during update

I was consolidating an album which I obtained tracks from multiple sources. So in a mass "information" update I corrected the spelling of the title (one had a different upper lower combination that had caused two folders), added the year, number of tracks and added the cover art manually. I hit OK and it asked if I wanted to update the cover art for multiple tracks? I replied yes and watched it go through the updating process.

Then the entire album disappeared completely from both I-Tunes and the I-Tunes music folder under that artist. It did not show up in trash. Where did it go? Is it retrievable?
