Just came home with my brand new iPhone 7 128 gb.
Updated to iOS 10.1.1.
When I started the camera app it was incredibly slow, finally the picture appeared but totally out of focus.
Tried to restart as well as reset to factory settings, without any success.
Any suggestions?
I will try to roll back to iOS 10.1. Otherwise I return the iPhone tomorrow.

I had the same issue, brand new out of the box iPhone 7 Plus, and the camera wasn't focusing at all.
The portrait mode was ok, but not other modes... Noticed that when I was trying to get my credit cards
added to Apple Pay (Wallet)... It looks like the camera stabilization mechanism is causing the issue.
Tried resetting, hard reset, restoring factory defaults, bla bla bla... nothing worked!
My solution: believe or not, I had to hit my iPhone (the camera part) gently on the palm of my hand a
few times and whatever was stuck got released and my camera started working, focus was back...
I'm not saying you should do that with yours, consult an Apple employee for advice, this only worked
for my iPhone so far. I'm going to an Apple store and report that, don't want to have the same problem
after the warrant expires. Apple should look at this issue with more details!
PS.: the camera area was overheating when the focus issue was apparent and went away after the

I have followed the instructions to "Reset All Settings" and then rebooted my iPhone 6+ but am still experiencing issues with the camera. The camera does not seem to be able to focus on objects both near or far. It cycles repeatedly like it's trying to focus but it doesn't and the picture is blurry. I installed 10.1.1 on Wed, 11/2 and noticed the issue later that night when trying to take a picture. Up until then, I've not had any prior issues with my camera. The phone is in pristine condition and has never been dropped. Are there any other suggestions of what I can do to restore my phone's camera capabilities? TIA.
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings then restart your iPhone and try the camera.
No data is lost due to a reset.
This was really odd. As I "Erase All Content and Settings" and the focus was still blurry.
After another attempt with just "Reset All Settings" the focus started to work...

Don't tap Erase All Content and Settings unless you intend to restore your iPhone to factory settings. That's not the same as: Reset All Settings.

Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings
Then reboot your iPhone. That worked for me.
