iTunes 12.5.3 keeps crashing

iTunes started crashing every time I open it. I have tried restarting my iMac. This is the crash report I get. Any suggestions on how to fix? I couldn't put the whole crash info on because this post said this message contains invalid characters.

Hi Stanley,

It appears that the 12.5.3 update to iTunes released this week contains a bug which causes it to crash when updating your iTunes library.

You can downgrade iTunes which will fix the issue by following the steps at Re: my iTunes keeps quitting after the latest update

Bug reports have been filed with Apple so hopefully there will be a patch released soon to fix the updated version of iTunes.

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks for the advice. Before I was going to downgraded, I went to the App Store app, and lo and behold another update with the same number (12.5.3) showed up. I installed it. So far, no crashes. So I'm hoping that was the patch. Interestingly, the update history shows that I had already installed 12.5.3 twice. But, crossing my fingers, this one seemed to work. Thanks.
