What to do when cancelling iTunes Match

I got this message from Apple:

"By the way, when we cancel iTunes Match, you won’t have access to matched or uploaded songs in the cloud, so be sure to download them before we cancel the subscription."

Is there a single setting or something to click, to insure this happens? It's not obvious to me if I *have* anything needing downloading. Putting it another way, how do you get into the situation of having music *only* in the cloud, and not on Mac or iPhone or iPad?

Thanks!

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

Hi,

Make sure that all your music is on your computer. Also make sure that you have a suitable back up on an external hard drive.

SIgn into your account and turn off automatic renewal. You will still have access to iTunes Match until expiry date. If you want to stop using it earlier, go to preferences and uncheck iCloud music library. Turn off iCloud music library on iOS device.

You will keep any track that you upgraded from a lower bit rate and you will now be able to sync your iOS device by usb or wifi.
