Final Cut Pro X- Bad quality ?? When my videos, images, and text are paused they all look clear, but when the movie is playing, everything is blurry. How can I fix this?
MacBook Pro with Retina display, 10.11.6
This did the trick for me. Choosing better Quality over better performance made a big difference.
There may be nothing wrong.
Usually this is because on the fly playback is making your Mac work hard or you have a bottle neck somewhere.
Select a small piece of Timeline and Share it as a Master File.
If the Master File sample is plays OK, then it's whatever is going on in the FCP X Timeline.
Try Rendering it for better playback. Or Optimise the files.
Providing info on your Project Settings and Clips in use will help anyone offering suggestions.

Yeah, I have this exact problem, I think it might just be a glitch. Try updating to FCP 10.3
Yes when "better performance" is checked the quality of the clip is lowered - particularly noticeable when the clip is paused.
If you click on "better quality" you will not have this problem 🙂
Hi! I actually changed in to "better quality" in the drop down "view" box. Thanks for your help!
