I Just upgraded to ios 10.1 on my iPad pro... I don't want the weather from the weather channel I know I can add other widgets but I can figure how to get rid of this one. Or is that not a choice the mothership allows me?

My mistake, now for the correct answer. Go to settings> privacy> location services> weather> never.
Are you talking The Weather CHannel, a third party app? If so, try to go into settings. Scroll down to the app (mine is at the very top) and check the notifications. See if it has permission to be in the notification center or on the lock Screen. If it does, turn it off and see if it goes away.
I have the app but I've tuned off all the notifications so I don't see anything.
I think this is the problem.
I'm still updating my iPad but on my iPod nothing has been added. Do you see and 'edit' button on the widget page? Swipe to the right and see if there's an edit button
in my first two attempt it appeared that the edit only allowed me to deal with the right and left panels not the one where the weather channel is..
It was there all along, it just didn't always show up. Unfortunately it can't be deleted.
