If you have anti virus software installed on your Mac, it's not necessary.

Error -50 is a very unhelpful generic communications error with a number of possible causes. Something between the drive to which you are downloading and the drive from which it is all coming is not working correctly, with probably dozens of possibilities.

A good place to start is to restart your computer and device. I would then check the cable is connected properly.

Yes, thank you, I realized you were correctly reporting the error (I've seen it mentioned here many times before), it's just many people on here think -50 and 50 mean the same thing, but imagine if a bank thought the same thing. 😕 I'm just trying to defer sloppy habits. 🙂

May I recommend that errors be handled exactly as stated because sometimes "50" and "-50" can be two completely different errors.
