I need a USB driver for a external HDD Dane-Elec

Please I am having difficulty in finding a USB driver for my old Dane-Elec SoReady+2TB external HDD, after having to reformat my iMac post Sierra update.

This HDD was my storage space for all the photographs and videos of my children and grandchildren, and in my search for an updated driver that will allow me access to this files in the new Sierra OS, is constantly driven me to commercial sites that try to charge me lots of dollars for the privilege.

I can not find the official site for Dane-Elec. Please can somebody help?

Usually no drivers are needed for the iMac to read an external drive. When you connect the drive to the iMac does it appear in the Finder or Disk Utility?

Thank you for your help, you are correct, the fault is with the external HDD.

I will have to try to recover the files and the hard disk some other way, maybe with some specialised software program.
