Can I track the location of my Apple Watch if it says it's "offline"

I've recently lost my Apple Watch! I've tried to locate through "find my iPhone" in the watch feature on my iPhone. It locates my iPad but my watch is "offline" is there anyway of tracking the location ??

No, you cannot track any Apple device in iCloud if it appears offline. Offline means it is not connected to any internet connection, so there is no connection for the data and the find my device system to communicate with each other.

Until or unless it comes back online, there is no way to track it remotely. Any and all remote tracking requires the device be able to transmit its location, and if offline, it cannot send anything.

1. What difference does it make if the device stores any data for any amount of time. Until it can come online and transmit, there is nothing to track. And once it does come online, who cares about the legacy data since it can now transmit its current location.

2. The iCloud account at www.icloud.com will show the last known location for 24hrs. After that, no information is available in iCloud until the device goes online and updates its location. Talk to Apple if you think they should retain information for longer. At this time, they do not.

Your insults aside, my mind works very well. Your point about saving data is utterly immaterial to the OP’s question of how can they find their lost device NOW. And as the situation is now, there is no way to find or track an offline device by any remote means.

So if you think you’re offering anything remotely germane or helpful to this thread or the OP, it is you who needs to think before they post (especially when you have nothing more to contribute other than insults).

Did you ever get another option about finding your Apple Watch while offline?

Not to nitpik, but it is not an "opinion". Find my iPhone is an internet data dependent service. It relies on an internet connection for the device to send location data to Apple's services. Offline means no internet data connection (wifi or cellular doesn't matter - offline means no internet connection of either kind), so find my iphone is incapable of being used at all.

Just as you cannot make a cellular telephone call without a cellular voice channel network connection, an internet data service cannot function if the sending device has no internet data connection. This isn't magic - it's just basic transmission of data from a device to a server over the internet.
