Firstly this is a user support forum - you are not talking directly to Apple here so they will not say if they solved this issue or not - we are mostly other apple users.

Secondly Candybar is almost certainly unsupported on 10.11. Read their blog for info…

There have been issues since 10.8 so I doubt 10.11 allows this app to modify how the system displays icons. Remove the app & see if your crashes stop.

Also take a look at…

http://roaringapps.com/app/candybar

It contains reports from other users who have used the app, currently no one is saying it works on 10.11.

Thanks for this.

I removed CandyBar, no crashes yet exept with Chrome. When closing the application, I get this error:

Crashed Thread: 0 CrBrowserMain Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread

Exception Type: EXC_BAD_INSTRUCTION (SIGILL)

Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000001, 0x0000000000000000

It's probably unrelated.

I think it is unrelated.

Make sure you have the most recent version of Chrome installed. If you keep having crashes you should backup & consider looking at what is installed. Also it can be worth testing with only Apple hardware connected if you have multiple other devices attached.

Etrecheck will show you what is installed & set to run, but I am unsure if you need to do that just yet - it really depends on how much old software you suspect is installed.
