Mac updated iTunes to 12.5.3 twice!

TToday I turned on my Mac and noticed the app store showed a 1 badge, indicating something was due an update. I was baffled when I saw it was iTunes 12.5.3 because I had already updated to it a few days ago. The only way to get rid of the update prompt was to click on update where upon it downloaded and the prompt vanished. itunes seems OK in the aftermath but why the double update of 12.5.3? Anyone else see same? Apples updates seem a but iffy recently on mac

I noticed the same thing.

A closer look revealed the update on 11/01/16 was 12.5.3.16. The update today was 12.5.3.17.

It would be easier to identify the update if I still had the 30 day update history.

Apple released iTunes 12.5.3.16 however discovered a pretty big bug that caused iTunes to crash when you added new songs to your Music Library so a patch 12.5.3.17 was released to fix this after many people started reporting problems.
