Bluetooth and Palm T|X

Alright. I have searched everywhere. This is getting ridiculous.

I just purchased the Palm T|X. It was my understanding that connecting from OSX to the Palm via Bluetooth should have been easy. However, it is proving to be impossible.

I've gone through every possible list of options. Part of the issue is, most of the forum or blog posts regarding it (besides here) are from 2004 or 2002. The posts here, however, are regarding other issues, most of which are based on the Bluetooth connection already working.

HotSync is installed correctly, iSync works over the USB HotSync connection. Both the Palm and the Mac are set to discoverable.

Steps taken so far (all under Applications > Preferences on the Palm):
Network > Preferences > Service: Bluetooth.
Connection > Edit Connections... > New
Connect to: PC; Via: Bluetooth; Tap to Find
It finds my computer name, I select it. It asks if I'd like to add to trusted devices. If I say yes, it goes through the pairing/passkey deal and it fails every time.
Tap Ok, tap Done.

Bluetooth: On, Discoverable.
Setup Devices > PC Setup > PC Connection
Next etc etc, pairing/passkey deal, fails every time.

I've tried Set Up New Device... in the Bluetooth pane in System Preferences. It attempt to pair using passkey and it has the same issue.

If I use the "Connect" button in either Bluetooth > Network Service : Connect or Network: Connect, it will:
Open the Service Connection Progress window.
Initialising; Signing On...
And eventually times out with "Error:PPP timeout (Ox1231)"

I've tried it with the Bluetooth-PDA-Sync under the Bluetooth preferences on the Mac both off and on. On the Palm, Applications > Preferences > Connection leads to the same place as the secondary steps in the above sections.

I'm at a loss here. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Open up Hot Sync on the Palm TX (not preferences), you'll see the blue square in the middle with the blue and red arrows for the sync logo, right underneath that is a popup menu, usually it defaults at "Cradle/Cable". Click on that, go to Edit Connections, click New. Name it what you want, Connect to: should be set on PC, then below that you get Via: select Bluetooth from the popup menu then you should get Device: Tap to Find.

I've done that as well. There are multiple ways to get to that setup and I've gotten to it from others as well. I kept following other suggestions I found in help files etc. and it usually ended up routing me to the same place. I've tried setting most of it up multiple times.

I've gone through the bluetooth help files in OS X, in The Missing Sync and the support articles in The Missing Sync database. I can link the support articles if it would help.

I sent a support mail to The Missing Sync technical support, although I'm not entirely sure they'll have any more information than we do. We'll see. I don't know how long it will take for them to get back to me. I'll post any information I get from them.
