Airdrop transfer failed - not enough free space

I'm trying to transfer files from my old Macbook to my new one and it's now saying that I don't have enough free space to complete the transfer. I've already successfully transferred a few of the files, but I have a lot more that hasn't been yet.

Also, is there any faster way to transfer files? (Music, Mp4s, photos)

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)
