Note App not working with Sierra 10.12.1 and iOS 10.1.1

Hi all,

I've been reading several previous issues on this matter trying to apply those solutions to my problem, but still in trouble.

Situation.

Same AppleID on MBook Pro (Sierra 10.12.1), iPhone, iPad (iOS 10.1.1).

Submitting/Modifying a note from MBP, no way to have this replicated on the other two devices. Neither devices, nor icloud !

On the other way round (or working directly in icloud), it works and I can see everything everywhere.

Even considering the chance to refresh the synch does not produce effects. To be honest it worked once, but that's it. Recurring problem !

No problems at all with Cal, Contacts ecc.

Can anybody help me in understanding where I'm wrong ?

Thanks in advance, Luca

Well they told me some days but i doubt it, since i had the apple support in France 2 hours this afternoon...

The synchronization goes one way only: from icloud server (from an internet browser) to my devices: iphone 5s, iphone 6s, apple watch series 2, ipad mini Air, imac, mac mini, makbook air

If i try to update Notes from any of those, then it never comes back to the icloud server :-(

Which is really a pain!!!

Hi all guys.

Updated almost all devices I have and NOTE works fine again.

Honestly I don't observe any delay, quite fast and reactive.

Tomorrow I'll perform better tests but it seems to be working fine.

I'll report any mismatch.

Take care, guys.

my iMac 5k and iPhone 5c pair never had a problem on any Sierra update

my iMac notes always get to iPhone, my iPhone photos always appear on iMac

i'm convince many people are having strange problems because they install non-apple software (ie especially imac software that wasn't allowed on Apple Store for any of many reasons: i wouldn't use it if it wasn't allowed) (and worse - even gives these softwares authority to make changes to user files)

meanwhile: if iCloud (see Settings) knows you have an iPhone IT TELLS YOU if it cannot push the message from the iMac to the iPhone and suggests a reason why it can't (ie, not signed in to iCloud)

you should investigate your iCloud settings thoroughly - ie make sure it knows you have an iPhone, the iPhone knows it has an iMac, and that you have not ignored messages saying "verification is needed"

Dear QuietMacFan

I do not share your analysis :-)

I'm installing apps from the app store, so no junk, nor jailbreak

I spent more than 2 hours on the phone with Apple and they have finally admitted that it was a bug on their side :-)

What is really weird is that I have seen the release note of the new OS, and they do not mention at all the fix of this issue...Lies???

One thing as well is that i upgraded first my iPhone 6s, and then all my devices (including my Macs - mini/imac/macbook air) were working again...

Anyway i'm happy since everything is back to normal now

Bye

Catherine

I'm having the exact same problem, same macOS Sierra version (10.12.1) and same iOS version (10.1.1).

Anything I do on iCloud.com is pushed to all my Apple devices.

But if I create a new note on my iPhone (iOS 10.1.1), it never shows up in iCloud.com or my other Apple devices (MacBook Air running Sierra 10.12.1, iMac running Sierra 10.12.1, or iPad running iOS 10.1.1).

However, if a note originates from iCloud.com or my MacBook Air or my iMac, it shows up on my iPhone.

And if a note was originally created on iCloud.com, my MacBook Air, or my iMac, and I edit the copy that shows up on my iPhone, then those changes from my iPhone do sync to my other devices.

So it seems like notes created in iOS 10.1.1 are not getting synced--that is, they remain "local."

It's definitely something that's happened recently--so a sync bug in iOS 10.1.1 seems plausible. Or maybe there's something up with the latest version of Sierra too/instead.

Whatever the case, SUPER frustrating!

Hi Joey, you're right.

Apple seems to be aware of the problem.

Someone also contacted me some times ago, but up to now no replies.

Hoping to have a reply back soon.

Take care

You're right, Clauribe.

And, unluckily, Notes is not the only matter so bad involved by Sierra/iOs10 "updates"...

Let's see what happen, hoping in a better future.

Take care
