iPad Mini 2 ios 10.1.1 keyboard orientation

Since installing iOS 10.1.1, the on screen keyboard positions itself in the middle of the screen regardless of whether the iPad is held in horizontal or vertical orientation. See the photos. I'm therefore unable to see whatever the content behind the keyboard overlay is obstructing. This problem persists regardless of what app is being used, be it Notes, Messages, or any 3rd Party app. I am using an iPad Mini 2.

Any tips? Thanks.

Hi. Hold the keyboard button in the lower right and select "Dock" from the popup. To stop it from ever happening, turn off Settings > General > Keyboard > Split Keyboard. This turns off both the split keyboard and the undocked option.

Had this problem to after the latest update.

FInally spoke to a senior Apple advisor after being told to do a long backup on my mac. This didn't work.

The solution I was finally given was :-

1) GO TO SETTINGS ON THE I PAD.

2). SCROLL DOWN TO GENERAL.

3). ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE SCROLL DOWN TO KEYBOARD THEN OPEN.

4). SCROLL DOWN & IF THE BUTTON SPLIT KEYBOARD IS OPEN CLOSE IT.

THIS THEN SOLVED THE PROBLEM FOR ME.

TRY THIS FIRST IT ONLY TAKES MINUTES.

HOPE IT SOLVES THE PROBLEM FOR YOU.
