Sorry! Changing the organiser is not allowed

Wife invites me from her iThing to my GCal.

All good.

Invite arrives in married name, correct email address.

Wife sends (numerous) updates from iThing to my GCal.

Not good.

Change arrives in her maiden name but with the same email address.

I am not able to accept the change as the message in GCal says 'Sorry! Changing the organiser is not allowed.'

Errrrr - but it is the same email address.

Somehow between iThing and GCal the wrong name is being allocated when an update is made.

Any thoughts?

What about clearing the iCal cache?

  1. Quit iCal/Calendar.
  2. Make backup copies of these files before deleting them.
  3. Delete the calendar cache found here:
    ~/Library/Calendars/Calendar Cache
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.iCal (if these files exist)

If there are additional issues, the following may also be useful:

  1. Quit iCal/Calendar.
  2. Make backup copies of these files before deleting them.
  3. Delete the Events directory found here:
    ~/Library/Calendars/*.calendar/Events
  4. Delete the application's preference files here:
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iCal.plist
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iCal.helper.plist (if this file exists)
