Apple Pay - Works on Phone / Not on Watch

I am not able to add my credit card to the Apple Watch. It works fine on the phone. I have a password set and have wrist detection on.

In the Watch app I see the card. When I click Add I receive the message "Could Not Add Card - Try again later or contact your card issuer for more information." It is a Chase Visa. I talked to Chase tech support and everything looks fine on there side. Card is active, not blocked, expiration date and security code are OK.

I have tried removing and readding the card on the phone. That works fine. Problem is only with the watch. It is an original version 1.

Any suggestions?

Hi

Check that you are following all of the steps here:

Set up Apple Pay on your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, or Mac - Apple Support

To be able to add cards to Apple Pay on your watch, you must have the relevant region setting selected for it (as on your iPhone):

On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > General > Language & Region - check that correct Region Format is selected.

If these settings are already correct, try reselecting the same Region Format and also the same System Language - these steps have resolved the same issue for other users.

Hi Jonathan - Thanks for the suggestions. However we verified with Chase Bank support and the problem still exists. The region is correct on both the watch and the phone. Chase checked their systems and had no provisioning errors. The card is valid, expiration date is OK, security code is verified. We completely moved the card from everything (including iTunes). When we readd the card it goes to the phone fine but fails when we attempt to add to the watch. I also tried unpairig and repairig the watch.

You need 4 digit passcode on before apple pay will work on watch ?
