Fried iPod 5th Gen, Can I get photos back?

Hi. I really need help.

I recently took my iPod Touch 5th gen to get the home button fixed (It got jammed after my baby dropped it onto the floor) and it was charging fine as I was using on-screen home button. Then I decided to go get the homebutton fixed so I took it to Itz Computers and they quickly fixed the home button and was charged $5 for it and went home. Then I discovered it wouldn't charge... Nor would it connect to my computer so I could transfer all my photos, videos and notes onto my computer. So I took it back in August. It's now November 5th and I've gotten fed up with the waiting time and they told me that they tried to replace the battery, that it got fried (240 volts went through instead 40 apparently) and they said there's no way I could get the photos or notes back. I had no cloud back up or whatever. Is there anyway I could get those back since they seemed dodgy and were terrible with communication....

A bit of a bright site I guess.

If you get a new device you may want to consider some sort of backup. there is icloud, but I have found the 5 gig free amount to not be enough, especially for photos and videos. But there is also One Drive, which is also free, but it does also have a 5 gig limit, or for photos, Flickr can be set to auto upload your photos. And, with Flickr auto uploaded photos are locked until you unlock them, meaning they're not public. And there are others if you wish to research for one that looks good to you

A way to back stuff up that may allow you to save your memories in the future.

I will keep that in mind, thank you! I'm extremely sentimental especially when it comes to my 10 month old, so I WILL definitely be doing that.

I agree, the 5GB limit wasn't enough so that's why I didn't turn it on, (Though I still should have) but I'll be trying Flickr. The auto upload would be great, as everytime my 16gb iPod reached it's storage limit, I'd empty it onto my pc. Not so smart, but I've learned now. I planned on getting an iPhone 7 and I will be doing that from now on. I've heard that I could pay to extent iCloud storage space, does iCloud auto upload or nah? Again though, thank you so much for the suggestion 🙂

YEs. If you choose to pay for more storage iCloud will auto upload your photos. The only thing you will want to be aware of is that when you delete photos from your device it will also delete it from your iCloud. So you just want to read up and be aware of things. Of course you can also download those photos onto your desktop and keep a second backup. Within reason, here's no such thing as too many backups.

Awesome, thank you! I just looked it up and it's only $29.99 for 2TB's.. Nice! I'll be definitely doing that. I could never delete photos anyway, I always transfer them onto my pc just in case! So it'll work out nicely. And you are more than right - there is absolutely no such thing as too many backups 🙂 Thank you so much for your suggestions!
