How do I stop spam iCloud Calendar and Photos invites?

I have started receiving spam Calendar and Photos invites from Chinese spammers, how can I stop/block/report these? There is no way to do it via iPhone, and even logging in to the iCloud site dosen't let me see these invites via the browser. This is gettng extremely annoying to the point I've had to turn off the iCloud Calendar and Photo sharing features.

This really, really needs to be addressed.

I received icalendar spam from ray ban this afternoon on my iPhone 6+ and iPad Air2-both run IOS 10.1. User uploaded file

Did I ruin my entire life when I declined the message on my iPhone?

By now, everyone reading this has realized that I am a luddite. I do not understand the attempted fixes described by other forum participants.

I need to know the following:

1. What else should I NOT do?

2. How do I prevent the intrusion of unsolicited messages in calendar?

3. How do I configure, disable or remove Calender from my IOS devices?

I am concerned that Apple has become equally as vulnerable to cyber attack as is Microsoft .

Fortunately for me, I am old, patient, and I have books. Shall I clean up my CB radio and purchase US Postage stamps?

Please excuse my unsophisticated techno-verbiage.

Thank you.

I too have recently been receiving spam from Chinese spammers via the calendar.

The spammer is in my "home" calendar with whom I am apparently sharing the calendar with but when I check I am not sharing any of my calenders with anyone. I can't even remove the spammer from the sharing list.

I bought Apple products because of the security but it now seems that this is no longer a benefit.

After the low specifications and high price increases of new products, the ultimate solution I think is back to Android.

Apple used to innovate now it just iterates. It's a pity and very sad.

Thank you for your helpful answer. I followed your steps and will continue to do so every time I get a spam calendar invite. Do you know if I can then delete the contact that I created so I don't have spam email addresses saved in my contacts? Or if I delete the contact, does that undo the block? Thank you again for the insight.

This is so annoying that I've disabled calendar.

Apple REALLY needs to implement a button labeled "completely blacklist this person"

It would be good to use a social media style algorithm too such if if enough people blacklist the spammer he get blacklisted for ALL users that have enable the service.

Do Apple developers read this forum? If so some advice: Fix this or most users will disable or delete the calendar app. Google's calendar does not seem to have this problem (yet).

Just started getting these spam calendar invites today as well. I found this, which may helpful to some:

1. Login with your Apple ID on the web at iCloud.com.

2. Click on the Calendar icon

3. Click the gear icon at the very bottom left of your calendar.

4. Select Preferences...

5. Select Advanced.

6. For the Invitations option settings, select the option that will have calendar invites emailed to you instead of in-app notifications.

This isolates all invites to an email rather than auto-entering them into the calendar where you are prompted for the accept/decline/maybe answer there. Within the email you can then choose to accept/decline, or just trash the email with no response at all if it's spam.

I found this in one of the blogs; https://9to5mac.com/2016/11/09/icloud-photo-sharing-and-calendar-spam/

I just tried it on my calendar.

From a person who goes by FlashGen:

There is a slightly easier way to stop the non-email associated spam calendar events showing up. i.e. the ones that just appear in your calendar like magic.

Just log in to iCloud.com open your calendar. Then under the calendars settings (cog icon lower left of the screen), select the Preferences entry and then the Advanced tab. You'll likely notice that your Invitations setting is defaulted to in-app notifications. Change that to email and it'll prevent future invites automatically appear solely in your calendar (you'll get it as an email that is easier to delete without confirming a live account). This has stopped the calendar ones appearing for me…

Unfortunately there isn't an option for this under Photos 😟

I agree, this is intrusive beyond belief and Apple should alert its users when such spam is on offer so that they can simply opt out rather than waste hours of time on tech forums trying to work out how to stop it!

The cynical side of me wonders whether Apple plans to make a non advertising subscription app of iCal knowing that every regular user will become totally hacked off by seeing the ads

I was able to remove my apple email from my calendar by going to; Settings>Calendar>Accounts>iCloud and then switching off calendar on the list that appears there. The notification at least doesn't appear anymore and if you already didn't hide the iCloud calendar, it should also remove the events from your calendar as well ;)

Only problem, especially for Apple, is that less people will use their email accounts through them.

I followed all the steps to enter the new contact, but then THE OPTION TO BLOCK ISN'T THERE!.

I'm royally PO'd that Apple isn't addressing this. I'm getting this email daily. I made the mistake of declining the first one. I was on the road away from my computer, nothing but iPhone 5c, hard to read.

Besides which, there should not be any way for someone outside my own contacts to add "events" to my personal calendars! They are NOT public!i

Thanks for you advice. I wish it had worked for me.
