PART 2:
The steps described above worked until I updated my iPhone and iPad to 10.1.1.
At that point, I had to repeat the above steps.
To those who are using iCloud Photo Sharing and receiving Spam messages, my suggestion is this:
If you can live without it, disable it.
I am more than very annoyed.
Trust me, younger members of this forum, Life IS short.
I resent having to think about technology more often than I actually need to use it.
I have many other interesting and life-affirming activities built into my life that I enjoy even more than I do mobile phones and tablets.
I bought Apple products because these devices are (or were?) supposed to be more secure and less susceptible to intrusion and cyber attack than were my old, very slow and buggy android phone and tablet.
It seems apparent to me that Apple can no longer claim a security advantage.
Does Apple intend to pay attention to and to solve the problems about which myriad user forums have been created?
IF NOT and the spam problem continues to be left up to users to solve temporarily and IF, indeed, this IS the new IOS reality, I have already begun to solve my own problem.
•I am reading a new softcover book I traded for at our local book-swap.
•I have checked out a brand new mystery on cd from the library.
•I have already cleaned up and readied my cb radio.
•Tomorrow, I shall purchase US Postage stamps.
Breaker, breaker, anyone?
Retro is cheaper and back in style! :-)
