why has my music shuffle stopped working on my iphone

your comments are greatly appreciated. I tried that for a small 17 song Led Zeppelin playlist. I executed what you suggested from the last song and worked my way up to the first song. When not on shuffle mode the up next queue shows all the songs.

But the instant I hit shuffle the queue goes blank. It will play the current song to completion and then terminate.

Incidentally, the repeat or repeat 1 icon was not engaged on any of the 17 songs on this playlist.

Still at a loss. Bizarre.

Disable the single song repeat option within the playback controls:

When playing music, at the bottom of the screen, tap on the name of the song:

On the next screen, swipe up a short way:

The Shuffle and Repeat controls are located opposite "Up Next":

When a "1" is included within the repeat icon, the repeat option has been set to repeat a single song from the playlist. Tap on the button to cycle through the other options: repeating the full playlist or no repeat:
