Where are the files when airdrop video from MacBook to iPhone?

• I have videos and photos taken by an iPad. The videos are automatically stored in the iPad’s Photos app Camera Roll album and the Videos album.
• When I Airdrop photos to another iPad they appear in the Photos app Camera Roll album.
• When I Airdrop the videos they do not appear in the Photos app, either in the Camera album or in the Videos album.

This is not a format issue. THE RECEIVING iPAD ACKNOWLEDGES THE INCOMING VIDEOS. BUT THEY DO NOT APPEAR IN THE PHOTOS APP. WHERE CAN AIRDROPPED VIDEOS BE FOUND?

When items are sent using AirDrop from a Max to an iPhone, they appear in the appropriate app. For example, photos appear in the Photos app and websites appear in Safari.

I have this same issue.

Devices:

• MacBook Pro running macOS Sierra 10.12.1
• iPhone 6 running iOS 10.6

I can AirDrop a video from iPhone to Mac, but where does the video go when I AirDrop from Mac to iPhone? It doesn't appear in the Photos or TV apps.

I have the same issue with airdropping, but from iOS to Mac OS. Videos are air dropped to downloads folder on mac OS but are hidden for some reason. Mac OS also acknowledges them coming in, but defaults them as hidden files. (Command + Shift + .) will unhide on OS, not sure how to do this on iOS?

For me, they showed up in the Downloads folder and open with Quicktime.

Even if I try to export or save them they end up in Documents.

I don't understand why or how to make them happily live in the Photo Album of my MacBook Pro.

You have to first convert the video from .mpg to .m4v or another Apple friendly format. Just play the video in QuickTime, use File -> Export. Once you airdrop it, the file will be in Photos app.
