Renaming MMS Messages

How do you rename a MMS chat (the messages with green bubbles)? When I go to details, there is no where to rename it.

What do you mean by "rename" it? The message has the name of the person who it is from or sent to....

I have a group chat with a few friends, and I want to name it so I don't get confused

You can only do that with iMessages. SMS/MMS messages do not provide the ability to Name them. That option will not be available. This has to do with the fact there is at least one non-iOS device in the chat, so the bubbles are green.
