What is the best operating system for Logic Pro X users?

What is the best operating system for Logic Pro X users? From what I was researching El Captain is a no go - but those discussions are over a year old. Any updates on it working well for Logic users now? Also, does a specific system operating even have any huge affect on Logic? My computer and especially Logic is running painfully slow the point I haven't worked on anything in Logic in weeks even with everything updated in my OS and Apps - I have OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 currently. I DO have a scheduled genius bar appointment but not for a couple of days. I was just curious if Logic users have better support from some operating systems than others.

I have Logic Pro running fine on Snow Leopard 10.6.8

I want to upgrade to Logic Pro X which requires as a minimum Mavericks 10.9

Mavericks 10.9 is now unavailable at the App Store unless you previously purchased it and can then access another download under the purchased tab. It is otherwise only available on disc if it came with your 2013 Mac. ( Or on eBay as one other example...not sure I trust non-Apple sources )

You say on OS X Yosemite, Logic Pro X is running slow now.

Question > What OS X were you running when you began using Logic Pro X ? Mavericks 10.9 or Yosemite 10.10 ? Did it slow down after updates to 10.10.5 ? Just curious before I acquire Logic Pro X for myself. I was told I need to upgrade to El Capitan to resolve a different issue which came up recently. I will not jump to Sierra though...it is way too new. I have learned to look before I leap into any new software.

Sorry I have no answers for you but I can certainly learn from your experience. I have some reading to do.
