set up family sharing not allowed

On my iPhone I go to settings,Icloud, set up family sharing... when i click the set up family sharing it says "cannot start family sharing "my email address" is already used for shared purchases in "my name's" family. Ask keith to send you an invitation to join family sharing. It gives my email address in this but yet i cannot find anywhere to ask myself to give myself permission to add family members or to send myself an invitation. I have read prior posts about having previous email addresses, which I did have another email address assigned to my iCloud but I changed my email address and no longer have access to my other account, therefor cannot sign in with that account. I tried to set it up on my mac and the option to set up family sharing is grayed out. I have never set up family sharing before but when i sign into my iTunes when i go to family purchases (which I'm signed into iTunes under my email current email address which is also my iCloud email address) it shows one purchase, which I purchased under my current email address. I have tried signing out of all devices, then signing back in. I tried literally everything listed in all the blogs i can find. I just got itunes music and have the 3 month free trial but my wife cannot get on it because of this stupid family sharing garbage!!! please help me, I'm about to throw my phone and computer in the garbage disposal!!!!

Have you also checked your sign in to the iTunes & App Store? Make sure that it is signed into the same ID, then sign it out and back in again.

And you are certain that the email address that you are being shown is the exact same email address that you are signed into iCloud with?

If it is, and signing out of iCloud and back in again with that same email address didn't help, then you are going to have to contact Apple Support for help in getting it sync'd up:

Try signing out of iCloud and back in again

If that doesn't help, try resetting the device: Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Lock Screen displays, go to Settings>iCloud and see if you see "Family" instead of Set Up Family Sharing.

Something is out of sync. If you have Family Sharing set up under your current Apple ID, then when you sign that Apple ID into iCloud on a particular device, it will show the Family option.

As far as the shared media, since you indicate that you had a different Apple ID at one point, do you mean a totally different Apple account, or did you change the old ID to the current one on the same account?

If you set up a different Apple account, then only the purchases you have made with the current ID are going to show under shared purchases.
