Photo Supporting Random Order for Slides

I am creating a slide presentation in Photo and there does not seem to be an option to have the slides playback in random order. I also checked Keynote and had the same result. I have some great nature photography that I simply want to playback as a random slideshow on my iPad.

Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities WiameaBay,

If I understand correctly you're wanting to know if there is a way to play slides in a random order on a slideshow. I can see wanting to change the order or have those slides play randomly.

However, there is not a way to make them play randomly. You can organize them to play in the order in which you prefer. Check out the steps listed in this article to arrange them to your liking: Photos for Mac: Create and work with slideshows

Take a look at the steps specifically outlined under the section titled Create a slideshow project.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Have a great day!

There is a kind of workaround that you can use. Download this Applescript, Script: Shuffle Photos for an Instant Slideshow in Random Order, from Photos for Mac User Tips page and run it after selecting the photos for the slideshow. It will begin a slideshow with the photos in a random order.

You can download a compiled version of the script as an application from this tutorial site: P01 - Applescripts from Photos’ User Tips Compiled as Applications
