I have a Macbook Air, OS X 10.9.5 (13F1911)
I had to reset my password for Apple ID, and all went very smoothly, but now I get a message all the time that my iCloud won't work, I need to enter a verification code into my Macbook Air, and a verification number is sent to my iPhone, but I see no place on my MBA to put this verification number, so my photos are not synching, and I suppose nothing is.

I also have this problem as well, I'm wondering where to put to the verification code as there is no entry box that appears when trying to log into i cloud, i believe that this may be because the support for the old mas os( OS X 10.9.5 (13F1911)) isn't available. possibly upgrading the software may resolve, however this is bound to take up more resources hence making the mac eventually slower.
I had this problem after I updated my phone and iPad to two factor verification on my MBA. What they don't say is to enter this 6 digit code immediately after entering your password, then hit enter. Its stupid not telling you Password and six digit code together .

Yes that's right. Thanks. I did finally get the gist of that but the New Zealand help line finally solved my problem. It was something to do with the sharing. I think she made me turn off the keychain in settings until I was successfully signed in
