Are my lightning headphones from my iPhone 7plus not compatible to my iPod nano (7th gen)?

I thought these new head phones would be compatible with my iPod. I guess they're not, but is there anything I could do that would let me use them on my nano?

No, the Apple Store listing for EarPods with Lightning Connector

under Compatibility, only shows iOS devices that can run iOS 10 or later. iPod nano is not an iOS device. Since iOS 10 is required, there's no way it will work with your iPod nano. You should return them. If you need new headphones, get the EarPods with regular plug.
