Iphone Camera stops recording video when alarm goes off

Can someone please explain to me why the camera app stops recording if an alarm from the alarm app goes off. Today I missed a very important moment of my 5 year old simply because ios developers can't have the forethought to make it where the video keeps recording. All these great adds about how awesome the camera is and how you can capture all those great moments and foiled by a stupid alarm. REALLY!!!! Can someone address this? All it would take is a simple dismiss button for an alarm, phone call, text. But no. Instead the camera just stops! LAME!!!
