I recently bought Macbook Pro 13'' mid 2010.
From the beginning I can't capitalize letters with left shift key. Instead, with combination of most letters, it marks the words I wrote. I restarted shortcuts, it didn't worked. At the keyboard preferences, after pushing left shift all letters are disabled.
I'll be thankful if anyone could help me with it.

macOS Sierra: If keys on your keyboard don’t work
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Accessibility, then click Keyboard. Make sure Slow Keys is turned off. If Slow Keys is on, you must hold down a key longer than usual before it’s recognized.
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Keyboard, then click Input Sources. Select “Show Input menu in menu bar.” Open the Input menu, then make sure the correct keyboard layout is selected.
To see the keyboard layout, click Keyboard, then choose “Show viewers for keyboard, emoji, and symbols in menu bar.”
It does work on external keyboard. Does SMC restart could resolve the problem or could it be something serious? I wouldn't want to do it if it is not necessary.
It takes about 10 seconds. I wouldn't have recommended the step if I thought it was unnecessary.
And yes it could fix the issue. No way to know until you try it.
SMC restart also didn't work. Is there any possibility that the left shift just can't be used to capitalize letters?
Not unless it is damaged. I use the left Shift on my Mac all the time.
Did you spill water or anything else into the keyboard?
I bought it recently. I am not aware of anything that could have happened.
