desktop background disappears on restart of macbook air
Just bought 13" Macbook Air running on Sierra. The desktop background defaults back to solid gray dark every time I boot up no matter Apple background or from own photos. Can someone help?

At Finder, select Go menu > Go to Folder, and type ~/Library/Preferences. Then, delete "com.apple.desktop.plist" and "com.apple.systempreferences.plist", and restart your computer could solve the problem.
By the way , in previous versions com.apple.desktop.plist was really shown in user library , but using Mac book Air- OS Sierra there is no such plist .
So, com.apple.screensaver.plist & com.apple.systempreferences.plist can be removed into the trash .
Restart & empty the trash .
