My Charging Port Is Broken

My iPad Air charging port is broken and no longer charges. I have purchased a new charging cord and plug from the apple store and they don't work. I have tried charging via my computer and it wont charge. I also tried charging using portable charges, but they don't work. Has anyone been able to find a workaround to charge their ipads without spending a lot of money?

I hoped there would be charging pads or charging mats I could purchase but I have found any on the market for iPads.

Thank you.

Check the port on your iPad carefully to see if any lint or fuzz is in there that would prevent good contact by the cable. Carefully clean the port with a wooden toothpick if necessary. If that doesn't help Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support. Be sure to back up your device before taking or sending it to Apple.

There are but..... I have one from mophie. It consists of a charging case and a charing pad. But, it wouldn't work unless your charging port worked because the case has to plug into the charging port. The charging port is the only way to get power into the device. And, it was about $100.

I concur that your first step should be cleaning out the port.

Their solution is to buy a new iPad. I can buy a replacement ipad air from Apple for $250 that only comes with a 90-day warranty and no option of applecare. that is a ludicrous option considering I could buy a mini for $269 that automatically comes with a full year warranty.

I have a hard time accepting that there isnt a way to fix such an expensive product, especially when this is a problem that has occurred with other people before. The fellow who helped me said he has seen the issue before.

Everything is saved to the cloud so I haven't lost anything.

I will seek out an Apple repair shop in nyc tomorrow.
