How do I add time limits on configurator profiles

on supervised devices how to I create a profile to limit the total usage time of my device?

for example 5 hours total time then it restricts access to thing, I assume its possible as I have seem some apps that will do this.

Also is it possible to limit time so device will only work between 8am and 9pm?

Thanks

Thanks for your response, Im sorry I didnt make myself clear.

I would like to control time on an iPad and iPhone using a profile on configurator. I know its possible as there are apps you can download, but these require an MDM profile, you can only have 1 MDM profile which I already have. I would like to update my profile to be able to restrict time usage, preferably total usage time, but from a 8am to say 5pm would be ok.

Thanks

Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities Stuuuuuuuu,

If I understand correctly you're wanting to set up restrictions on your device for specific times. I can understand the importance of wanting to set up these restrictions and I'd be happy to help.

The best way to set up the specific restrictions that you are looking for is to set up parental controls: macOS Sierra: Set up parental controls

You'll want to follow the steps outlined in this section:

Set restrictions

  1. Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Parental Controls.

Note: When you open Parental Controls preferences, if you see the message “There are no user accounts to manage,” see Add a managed user.

  2. Click the lock icon User uploaded file to unlock it, then enter an administrator name and password.

  3. Select a user, then click a button at the top.

    • Apps: Prevent the child from using the built-in camera and joining multiplayer games in Game Center. Restrict a child’s contact with other people through Mail. Specify which apps the child can access.

    • Web: Limit access to websites, or allow unrestricted access.

    • Stores: Disable access to the iTunes Store and the iBooks Store. Limit a child’s access to music, movies, TV shows, apps, and books to only those with age-appropriate ratings.

    • Time: Set time limits for weekdays, weekends, and bedtime.

    • Privacy: Allow the child to make changes related to privacy.

    • Other: Prevent the child from using Siri and Dictation, editing printer and scanner settings, and burning CDs and DVDs. Hide profanity in the dictionary and other sources. Prevent the Dock from being modified. Provide a simplified view of the Mac desktop.
